Local play and preferences

Chess requires no game account or developer-operated server. Games run on your device. The current match, undo history and private inspections stay in memory and end when the app exits. Language and other preferences, challenge progress and review-invitation counts and dates are stored locally. Chess does not upload these records, positions, images or clips to the developer. It includes no Firebase analytics, third-party usage analytics or developer-operated crash reporting.

Advertising

The mobile app integrates Google AdMob and its consent platform. The current version requests official Google demo ads and non-personalized ads; it does not load publisher-configured consent messages. Demo requests still contact Google. Mac does not load the mobile advertising SDKs.

Google advertising services may process IP addresses and approximate location, device and app identifiers, advertising and app interactions, and diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Available identifiers depend on permissions and privacy choices. Non-personalized ads do not mean no data processing. Google uses encrypted connections and handles retention under its policies. Android advertising identifiers can be reset or deleted in system settings.

Before production advertising is enabled, appropriate consent and privacy choices must be provided for the actual configuration and distribution regions, and this notice and store disclosures updated. Any system tracking permission remains your choice. A non-personalized-ad setting does not replace applicable consent requirements.

Purchases

Apple App Store or Google Play handles payment. Chess uses store-provided products, transactions and active entitlements to deliver and restore access and manage subscriptions. It does not receive payment-card details or store passwords. Real purchases are currently disabled. Deleting app data does not cancel subscriptions or delete store transaction records.

Saving and sharing

Only at your request, Chess creates an image before king capture or a silent clip of the final action by each side. Save writes to Downloads on Mac or Photos/gallery on mobile. Videos are limited to 2 MB. iOS requests add-only Photos access; Android 10 and later need no gallery-read permission, while Android 9 and earlier request storage-write permission when saving. Chess does not read existing photos or record your camera or microphone.

Share opens the system share sheet. You choose the recipient; Chess does not send automatically. Recipient apps handle copies under their own policies. Temporary video frames are removed after generation; share files are removed at the next launch. Exported files are not deleted with temporary files.

Reviews, retention and deletion

Stores collect ratings and reviews through their own interfaces; Chess does not read what you submit. Preferences and progress remain until app data is cleared or the app is removed. Device backups may retain copies depending on your settings. Advertising providers, stores and recipient apps independently manage their records; uninstalling Chess does not delete those records.

Website and contact

Cloudflare Pages hosts the website. It has no ads, analytics scripts, accounts or forms. Cloudflare processes network requests, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. Visiting it does not upload local games or media. External links open only when you choose; your browser, mail app and other providers apply their own policies.

Contact joseph.petzval@gmail.com. The developer receives your email address, message and attachments only when you send them, and uses them to answer, handle applicable data-rights requests and meet necessary record-keeping duties. You can request access, correction or deletion of information you sent. Requests about independently held Google or Apple data go to those providers. Do not send passwords, card details or complete purchase credentials. The developer cannot delete store transactions on your behalf.
